Game rules

Goal of the game

A totally absurd improv courtroom. In each trial, one player is accused of a ridiculous crime, another leads the prosecution, and everyone else is the jury.

The Pleas

The prosecution argues first to get a conviction, then the accused handles their own defense. Speaking time is limited to 30 seconds.

Objection!

During the other side's plea, each side can shout "Objection!" as often as they like: the clock stops and they get 15 seconds to strike back.

The Verdict

The jury votes. Guilty: the prosecution scores 1 point. Not guilty: the accused scores 1 point.

End of the Game

Everyone takes turns in the dock and leading the prosecution. The player with the most points at the end wins.

Surprise Witness (Premium)

With 4 players or more, a juror is sometimes called to the stand after the pleas. The app picks their side and they get 15 seconds to testify. If that side wins, the witness scores 1 point too.

My crimes (Premium)

Write crimes about your group (5 minimum), like “Forgetting Julie's birthday”: they are spread over the game and topped up with the game's ones.

Frequently asked questions

How many players for Objection!?

From 3 players: a defendant, a prosecutor and at least one juror. The Surprise Witness, part of Premium, needs at least 4 players.

How long does a game last?

Everyone takes a turn in the dock and as prosecutor, with 30-second pleas: 20 to 40 minutes depending on the group.

How is the verdict decided?

The jury votes. Guilty: the prosecution scores 1 point. Not guilty: the defendant scores.

Do you need to be good at improvising?

No. The crimes are absurd, 30 seconds go by fast and every « Objection! » restarts the debate: the funniest plea counts as much as the most convincing.
